If you plan on selling your home this year, here are a few tips to help get it sold fast.

Tip #1 – Drapes

If your drapes need cleaning, don’t hesitate to have it done. Or better yet…Visit your local Home Goods store. They always have clearance special, especially after the holidays. This is the time to rack up. For the staging and also for our new spot.

Tip #2 – Carpets

Dirty carpets should be either professionally cleaned. This is highly recommended. There are several local small businesses that would appreciate your support. Remember to provide a review on Yelp, Google, Facebook, Thumbtack or Angie’s List. Today, our local small businesses thrive from satisfactory reviews and recommendations.

Tip #3 – Lighting

If any dark rooms appear dark, increase the wattage of your light bulbs. Don’t be scared. There are many different energy efficient light bulbs that you can purchase at your local Home Depot store. Before a showing, open the blinds and drapes and turn on the lights, even during the day. You want the house as bright as possible. Also, make certain your light fixtures, ceiling fans, and windows are clean.

Tip # 4 – Closets

If closets appear crowded, remove items not needed, and put in boxes and store in the basement, attic, or garage area.

Tip #5 – Too Much Furniture

Too many homes appear crowded, with too many pieces of furniture or knick-knacks. Consider having a yard sale to get rid of old items to make room for the new stuff. Today, selling used goods online is easy peasy. Just sign up for a LetGo, Craigslist, or Facebook Marketplace account and sell with ease.

Tip #6 – Garage Area

Spruce up your work area. Put items in boxes and storage bins. Stack them neatly in a corner. Consider using a pressure cleaner to remove any excess oils and grease marks on the garage floor and driveway.
